If you’d have told me in Spring, 2020, that I would come to love online therapy and actually prefer it to in-person sessions, I would have laughed in your face. In fact, my partner did mention this possibility to me that spring (he and his damn optimism!) – I distinctly remember it, because I did, in fact, laugh in his face.
As it turns out, I actually didn’t not like online therapy. I just hated working from a makeshift corner of a bedroom in my house, while feeling as equally terrified as all of my clients because of a brand-new raging global pandemic. Because, yeah, that was a lot, all around.
But online therapy itself? Turns out, it’s great! So great, in fact, it’s what I now exclusively offer.

Clients have found that engaging in therapy sessions from the comfort of their own home – often while under a snuggly blanket, wearing slippers, or having a cup of tea – allows them to even more fully relax into themselves while doing this emotional work.

By connecting with clients in the personal, private space of their homes, there’s an intimacy that’s fostered between us that in-person sessions simply can’t replicate. It’s truly such a joy to be invited into clients’ homes. (And I love getting to meet pets!)

Clients appreciate not having to get ready to go out into the world – clothes, hair, makeup – and instead are able to show up to therapy just as they are. That’s so helpful, because it supports the vulnerable work of therapy in a genuine and authentic way.

I use a secure, HIPAA-compliant online platform that is super easy to use with any device. There’s no software to download, no account to create, no password to remember.
At your appointment time, simply click on the link to my virtual waiting room that’s found in the reminder email you get the day before each of your appointments. Enter your name to check in, and that’s it!
Once you’re checked in, I’ll start the call. From there, it’s exactly the same as an in-person session, but with lots of added benefits. You can even hide your preview screen so you don’t have to stare at yourself!
